What do Prime Contractors want? In this course, participants will learn common expectations among prime contractors and large businesses. Participants will explore varying distinctions that allow companies to thrive and succeed in the larger marketplace. Participants will determine the steps necessary to prepare and engage with Primes. Finally, they will learn how to evaluate strategies to obtain experience in subcontracting, teaming, and mentor/protégé structures

In this course, you will:

1) Define the concept of “Mitigating Risk” and how subcontracting is a key component of it.

2) Recognize what Primes look for in a Subcontractor?

3) Apply this understanding to identify the best certifications and registrations to pursue to best position your business.

4) Evaluate the best strategies for leveraging the Prime/Sub model for business growth.

Nuha Nazy – Short Bio

Nuha Nazy, President and Facilitator, RightSource Services

Nuha has a running history as a serial entrepreneur with a background in finance, operations and analysis.

Nuha Nazy capitalized on her business experience to found RightSource Services in 1997. Nuha has been

part of, and owner of several entrepreneurial ventures through the years. RightSource provides

administrative and procurement services to utilities, corporate and government entities. As CEO of Z-Axis

Factory, Nuha built a pilot shared manufacturing facility to house small businesses and provide them with

the industrial equipment, space, and staff support to build their product-based businesses. Through a Z-

axis sister company, Z-Axis Labs, she conducted research with a medical partner in the application of 3D

print and visualization technologies to pioneer patient-specific digital and physical replicas.

By leveraging multiple resources into unique solutions for complex demands and projects, Nuha is very

familiar with making the most of what’s at hand for creative solutions. It’s why she’s long been a

consultant to many Fortune 500 businesses! This experience recently led to the creation of a cohort

structured training program to help other small businesses pursue utility, corporate and government

contracts, delivered in conjunction with the Los Angeles Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and

the City of Long Beach. Through the RightSource program, Contracting as a Second Language, Nuha works

with dozens of small businesses to diversify their client base to include utility, corporate and government

organizations.

Nuha holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
